ENK NYC Part 1

I know it has been awhile since my last blog entry. Things have been super crazy and perhaps, I have been lazy.  Last month I headed to NYC to check out the Children's Club in NYC. I was super excited to attend but a bit nervous as well.

I had to register which I did with much enthusiasm I must admit!  While I was filling out the necessary information I was told that I would receive an email confirmation shortly. So I waited, and waited and waited. NOTHING came. So then I decided to contact ENK myself and they informed me that they did in fact send me an email confirmation.
Hmmmm...so off to check my spam email. Nope, nothing.  So what do I do?  I called again and was told the same thing. At which point I decided to leave it alone and pray to God (literally) that it would arrive. As you might tell, I was a bit anxious to receive my credentials. Finally a week prior I received an email letting me know that my badge will arrive shortly.

I was attending the Children's Show with a friend.  For the sake of this post, I will refer to her as G. G also owns her own business. We decided rather then drive ourselves, we would take the bus to NYC. No big deal as we have done this prior when we attended the Toy Fair in NYC .  After getting up at the butt crack of dawn ( I am NOT a morning person) I arrived 30 min. prior to the bus arriving. Yes, I am that person.  Like I stated, I was a bit anxious and wanted to make sure I arrived on time.  While I waited at the bus stop a lady approached me and asked me if the bus stopped here. I assured her that in fact it does. Several people arrived  and we waited.  While chit chatting to the lady standing next to me, I realize that my friend G has yet to arrive and the bus is due in 10 min. Now G is usually late, however after reminding her many times not to be late, I thought she perhaps would arrive on time.  A quick text to G confirmed my fear. She was running late and lost. In the meantime, we noticed that the bus pulled into the park n ride but it does not pull up to where we are standing. Uh oh!

I had just assured those standing around me less then 10 min ago, that we were standing at the right spot. I said as much with such authority too.
As far as I could tell, G had not arrived. I was torn. Do I leave her behind or board the bus? The thought of traveling to NYC myself was daunting, however the thought of not arriving on time, pissed me off.
So we are standing there and then realize that the bus is not coming over. At that moment I called G to inquire as to her whereabouts. She asked me where I was. What? I was perplexed for a moment. Where I was?  I thought, 'I am here where I was suppose to be ON TIME.'  Then it dawned on me. G was across the parking lot in the correct spot. I and the others were at the wrong location.
Okay, in my defense, that is where I have always taken the bus to NYC. Granted it had been quite sometime since I took a bus ride, but still! So because G was "late"(I mean her husband pulled his vehicle in front of the bus, therefore not allowing the bus to pull away before she boarded the bus) she held up the bus. Which allowed us all to trek across the park n ride to the correct bus stop.

NYC ENK here I come!
